Summer Highlights
Ongoing events in the summer include the ArtWalk in Nakusp, farmers’ markets in Nakusp and Edgewood, as well as Music in the Park at the gazebo in Nakusp on Wednesday evening every July and August.
Canada Day
Join us on July 1st in Nakusp for a full day of celebrations, starting with a Pancake Breakfast by the volunteer firefighters at 7am, a parade at noon, followed by a family-friend event at the community park that includes kids’ races, games, a concession, and music in the gazebo. Come down to the waterfront at 10pm for the best view of the fireworks show put on by the Nakusp volunteer firefighters to finish off the day.
BC Day
Nakusp hosts an Annual Slo-Pitch tournament on August long weekend.
Winter Highlights
During winter the Arrow Lakes Ridge Riders host poker runs (on snowmobiles). One can try for “the big one” in a fishing derby or watch the races at the Summit Lake Ski Hill and Tube Park. The Arrow Lakes Arts Council hosts a series of fine indoor cultural events that range from classical music to theatre performances at the Bonnington Theatre between September and March.
Nakusp Celebration of Light
Follow the Santa Clause Parade to the park for an evening of caroling, children’s games, delicious food, contests and dancing.
