Established over 100 years ago and incorporated in 1964, Nakusp has a rich long history of logging, mining, and of course of the famous sternwheelers, which can be explored by visiting the Nakusp Museum and the Arrow Lakes Historical Society’s archives.

With a population of just under 1600, Nakusp is a family friendly community, offering amenities of a much larger center and a vibrant business community with a wonderful variety of accommodations, dining, stores and services.

Activities and services in Nakusp include a sports complex, skatepark, playgrounds, municipal park with campgrounds, hot springs, golf course, beach, marina and boat launch. Winter activities include skiing, heli-skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.  Enjoy spectacular views of the lake and mountains along the waterfront walkway and while enjoying a soak in the Hot Springs.

Many of those who visit Nakusp and the Arrow Lakes region fall in love with the area and wish to learn more about opportunities for investing in property.  Realty offices which serve the region are located in Nakusp.

The Nakusp & District Chamber of Commerce operates a Visitor Information Centre in downtown Nakusp. Visitor Counsellors are pleased to answer questions and provide information to help make your visit to our region more memorable.
