Arts & Culture

Nakusp and the Arrow Lakes region also has many very active non-profit arts and cultural groups dedicated to providing access to local arts and culture. These groups also schedule visits by artists and entertainers from outside the region, for the enjoyment of their audiences.

Museum & Heritage

Nakusp & District MuseumThis region is rich in a history of sternwheelers, agriculture, mining and logging. The Nakusp & District Museum is home to over 5500 artifacts of early life on the Arrow Lakes.  You are sure to enjoy the collection of Mel LaRue's models of the Minto and Bonnington sternwheelers, as well as many artifacts and pictures of the days of the sternwheelers on the Arrow Lakes and collection of Sinixt artifacts.

Museum Hours:

  • May & September:  11:00am to 3:00pm
  • June, July & August: 9:30am to 5:00pm

 

Entertainment

With a movie theatre in Nakusp and several movie-rental locations throughout the region, visitors and residents are well-served in terms of Box Office Hits, New Releases and even the old favourites.
